I’ve been photographing weddings since I was 16, so that’s over 15 years now. I got paid £60 for my first wedding, a friend from my photography class was photographing his sister’s wedding, but he wanted to be in some of the photos too, so they hired me.
I am a travel, portrait and lifestyle photographer during the week and I shoot for publications like National Geographic Traveller, The Guardian, Vice and Sidetracked. My editorial and commercial work hugely informs the way I shoot weddings and my main concern when shooting your wedding is creating a cohesive body of images that accurately conveys the narrative of your day.
I make wedding photographs that are soft, warm and cinematic.
Story telling is very important for me. I love shooting weddings because they flex all the photo-muscles in a single day. I have to produce documentary, portraiture, food and lifestyle, all at once. It’s exciting and challenging and there’s no opportunities for a reshoot.
